The Day of Reckoning (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 8)
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2003-03-01 Summary: Star Wars 8 review ... I have been a star wars fan since I was 8 and this is one of the best star wars books i ever read. I gets to the story of Qui-Gon and obi wan vs. Xanatos. Books 7 and 2 of this seires will help you understand this one better. Qui-Gon and Obi Wan go to Xanato's home planet of Telos to find him and bring him to justice. There they will try to become master and apprintice once again if Xanatos dosen't [destroy] them first. This is a page turner I read it in one day it was so good. The ending is suprising and makes you ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2003-05-01 Summary: The Day Reckoning a Story Arc ... I've been reading the Jedi Apprentice books to my son (Alex) off and on for the last three years, and he's loved them - and so have I. I still read them to him even though he's getting old enough to read them himself, just so I can have an excuse to read young adult books (yes they are that good). We've followed the early adventures of Qui-Gon Jinn and young Obi-Wan Kenobi and have been enthralled with the ongoing Xanatos conflict (Xanatos is Qui-Gon's former apprentice introduced to us in the second book of the series ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2004-06-17 Summary: good padawan gone bad ... This is one of my favorite books. I always like books where good guys go bad. Xanatos was Qui-Gon Jinns former padawan. He already went to the dark side. When Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan Kenobi went on a mission to Telos Xanatos' home planet. They ran into a surprise. Xanatos was waiting for them. They fell into many of Xanatos' traps yet in the end of the book the jedi manages to put Xanatos in a similar trap. This is one of the best books yet and I love it. It shows ones evil fall and anothers redemption as a jedi. Qui-gon ...more
[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-06-26 Summary: Xanatos again! ... Well, this is the final confrontation between Qui-Gon Obi-wan and Xanatos. After escaping the previous encounter Xanatos goes to the planet Telos and our jedi's quickly follow behind. What they didn't expect was that Xanatos would be treated as a king on Telos. Anyway you'll have to read the book to find out what finaly happens. ...more
[5] Rating: 4 Date: 2005-08-31 Summary: The End of a Trilogy ... This book ended an underlying trilogy story within this series that started in book 6. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon are reunited as Padawan and Master, which isn't really a spoiler if you have ever seen Ep 1. The further I dive into this series, the more I like it. Each book has a better story and the characters develop more depth as well. For a quick, easy and fun read I would recommend this entire series. ...more

The Captive Temple (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 7)
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2002-04-08 Summary: On of the best books, "The Captive Temple"! ... Obi-Wan Kenobi has decided to return to the Temple after staying on Melida/Daan. But once he arrives at the Jedi Temple with his former Master Qui-Gon, he realizes that things might not go as well as he thought. The Jedi Council is harsh with him and Qui-Gon seems to ignore him. Can he ever regain the trust he had with the Council and Qui-Gon? Also, there's a threat within the Temple. Everyone is being under suspicion, everyone is in danger, and everyone is wary of others. Who could be behind these attacks? As Qui-Gon ...more
[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2002-10-12 Summary: Return to the Fantastic ... I keep thinking to myself that Jude Watson is no J.K. Rowling, but now I'm beginning to think that I'm deluding myself. The Captive Temple is, as we've come to expect from Watson, a fantastic read. Most remarkable of all is the way Watson is able to depict Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, twelve years before The Phantom Menace. What is masterful is that these both are and are not the characters we saw in the movie; they appear exactly as they must have been in their younger days. Remarkable. The Captive Temple is also an improvement ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2005-08-28 Summary: A Review, I will write... ... This book focuses alot on Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan reuniting their kinship as Padawan and Master. The Jedi Temple is under seige and only Qui-gon and Tahl can take measures to stop the traitor stealing artifacts from the temple. I thought this book was a nice tie-in to the 2nd book in the series, mixing in the current story of Obi-Wan rejoining the Jedi Order, and continuing on into the 8th book which I am now reading. These young adult books are quite fascinating. The stories are short and sweet, but they are not without ...more
[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2003-08-29 Summary: Jude Watson does it again! ... Its definetly the best in the series, and I would have preferred it to end here. The ending seemed as though it was FORCED to hint about the sequal. I have a feeling that Jude Watson didnt want to continue writing it, and then had to. Its a great book, to bad about the ending.... ...more
[5] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-06-26 Summary: Is Jude Watson the star? ... Honestly, before venturing into the jedi apprentice series not much was known to me about Jude Watson, but man does she know how to write a book. I also like the dark side of the past few books where people are starting to be killed off. Not that I wasn't truly expecting it, but because it is intended for a younger audience...anyway another marvelous read, once again! ...more
Editorial Reviews — ... Product Description | When someone tries to kill Yoda, it's up to young Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn to investigate. Everyone in the Jedi Temple is a suspect - and the true culprit may be the darkest rival of all....more

The Deadly Hunter (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 11)
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2004-11-16 Summary: An awesome Jedi Apprentice book ... but not the best out there. However, this one rocked! It kept me in suspense every second of my read! After the somewhat badly written tenth book, Jude Watson gets back on top. This one is a little different from the others, though. It's like a murder mystery, with complicated themes and clues that I sometimes couldn't understand. So if you like mysteries with complicated cases, then meet the deadly hunter! But it's one of the really short Jedi Apprentices, so the perplexing themes don't go on like forever. Overall, ...more

[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-07-04 Summary: Back to brilliance! ... Ah ,after the last book (Jedi apprentice book 10) I wasn't sure if the series was taking the downward road to boredom, but have no fear Mrs Watson brings this book (and the series of the jedi apprentice)back to where it belongs. I'm also looking forward to where this bounty hunter will take us, will she be another Xanatos? Will her story be short lived or will she last a few books? Superb stuff once again! ...more
[5] Rating: 4 Date: 2008-02-04 Summary: Good action story, ending much too indeterminate ... The Star Wars phenomenon is one that people of all ages can enjoy. While the movie series developed a good story, the large number of characters and situations put forward create many potential story lines that can only be expanded via books. This book is about Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi in the earlier years of their relationship. A friend of Qui-Gon called Didi has been given a death mark and no one appears to know why it was done. Didi owns and manages a sleazy restaurant and is also a dealer in ...more

The Dark Rival (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 2)
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2005-05-09 Summary: *exciting, and suspenful* ... This was one of the first Jedi Apprentice books i read and i loved it! In this book Qui-Gon actually starts to realize that he's kept Obi-Wan in the dark and that he should have explained more about his old apprentice Xanatos. Also there's this part where Qui-Gon is going to rescue Obi-Wan and starts to notice how much Obi-Wan deserves to be a jedi. this book is very emotional and gratifying, i wish Jude Watson would write more! ...more

Editorial Reviews — ... Review | The exciting tale begun in Jedi Apprentice: The Rising Force continues in Jedi Apprentice: The Dark Rival . While thankful for Obi-Wan's life-saving help on the trip to Bandomeer, Qui-Gon must put aside his mixed feelings over the young apprentice and take care of his peace mission. The Shattered Peace (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 10)
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2002-08-17 Summary: Book 10 of the Jedi Apprentice Series! ... Obi-Wan Kenobi and his master Qui-Gon Jinn are sent to keep the peace between the planets Rutan and Senali. But they have more than enough on their hands when conflict arises between the two rulers. For many years, the firstborn children of the rulers of the planets are exchanged at a certain age. Instead of promoting peace this time, the planets are on the brink of war. The Fight for Truth (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 9)
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2008-07-01 Summary: Jedi Apprentice book 9 ... Another well written story by none other than Mrs Watson! I liked the introduction of Siri (although she has appeared shortly in other apprentice books before) and Adi. Hopefully we shall see more of these two. Also I read quite a few reviewers that complain that the jedi apprentice series books are too short. I tend to disagree with that ,although being a tad longer wouldn't hurt either. ...more
[2] Rating: 4 Date: 2006-03-08 Summary: A Planet Full of Lies ... This book takes place a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Kegan is the one planet that has no communication with the outside world. No one goes in and no one comes out. It has been that way for many years on Kegan and when the Jedi get a message from a family that thinks that there child is force-sensitive(able to interact with the force). When the Jedi here this they know that the must act upon it. Master Yoda summons Obi-Wan, Adi, Siri, and Qui-Gon to the council chamber. They have to get the force sensitive ...more

The Fight for Truth Jedi Apprentice #9 -by Jude Watson The Story Obi-Wan Kenobi, just barely back on the Jedi path, leaves with his master, Qui-Gon Jinn, and another team of Jedi, Adi Gallia and Siri Tachi. Siri was the padawan rival of Obi-Wan. She claimed Obi-Wan had made all masters believe their padawans weren't as dedicated as they use to think they were. That rift still lay between them. On the planet Kegan, visitors were a knew thing. Few Keganites even knew of the Jedi's presence. While Qui-Gon and Adi fight ...more
[4] Rating: 4 Date: 2005-09-06 Summary: Foreshadowing...Difficult to see, the future is... ... This book contains some good foreshadowing for Episodes 3 and 4. I am enjoying this story quite a bit already, but this tie-in about things to come in the famous movies really makes this series seem closer to Star Wars than just the names of the characters being the same. I finished book and and book 10 and I will be writing a review for 10 in a moment. If you like Star Wars and don't want a long, drawn out read, pickup this series! ...more

The Shadow Trap (Star Wars: Jedi Quest, Book 6)
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 4 Date: 2003-04-28 Summary: Short but Sweet ... This is the sixth book in Jude Watson's great series "Jedi Quest". At only 125 pages it is also the shortest. A lot of surprises are in this book and some cool characters as well. Without giving too much away, Yoda, Yaddle and even Granta Omega play pivotal roles in this story. My only complaint is that it was way too short. Make sure you read the first five "Quest" books before you pick this one up. if you want a good quick read this is for you! ...more
[2] Rating: 5 Date: 2005-05-19 Summary: jude has done it again! ... I enjoyed this book! I love it when Yoda uses his lightsaber! ...more
[3] Rating: 5 Date: 2003-11-14 Summary: Very Cool Series ... Isn't it amazing how a so-called children's series has adults raving about it? I do feel sorry for those that pass over these Jedi Quest books because they feel they are for younger readers. Little do they know. The one relationship in the whole Star Wars univers that has fascinated me the most is the one between Obi-Wan and Anakin. We all know what it's destined for and that makes it a very heartbreaking journey to go through with them. But these books make you almost wish that there's some magical way that Obi-Wan ...more
[4] Rating: 5 Date: 2003-10-14 Summary: A Great Book ... This is a great book. Dont judge the book on how many pages it has. Even though it is short, you will not be disapointed on buying it. im not goin 2 write anything that happens in it cause it would ruin the major thing that happens in the book. Buy the book and read it. Also read the jedi apprentice books, boba fett books, legacy of the Jedi, and for the advanced star wars reader, The New jedi Order books. Other than the thrawn books, they are the best star wars books that take place after episode 6 ...more
[5] Rating: 5 Date: 2003-04-22 Summary: Revelations ... Whoa! This book was excellent. You find out some amazing stuff that I didn`t see coming. The plot is excellent with twists and turns. [2] Rating: 5 Date: 2002-08-21 Summary: Story arc exploring Qui-Gon's heart... ... Obi-Wan Kenobi is now sixteen-years-old and now has a pretty solid relationship with his master, Qui-Gon Jinn. But right now he is very confused as his master acts distant. The reason is because Qui-Gon is being plagued with terrible dreams about his good friend, the Jedi Tahl, and because of this, he is troubled in his heart. Tahl instead just feels that he is being protective of her because of her blindness. Because of this, Tahl resents any help from him. So when Tahl leaves for a solo mission and doesn't return ...more
[3] Rating: 4 Date: 2001-10-11 Summary: good ... this book is probably the most "confusing" and exciting of jude's set. i enjoyed it very much but i have to say that the relationship between quigon and obi-wan is worrying. quigon seems not to care about obi-wan less and less, rather than get more and more close. however,i think this book is well written, (good work jude!) and i agree with some other reviews that obi-wan should get a "girl friend"! hee hee ...more

The Hidden Past (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 3)
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2003-05-31 Summary: Another winner ... This story is officially the beginning of Qui Gon and Obi Wans master, Padawan relationship. As with just about all of the books in this series, this book comes with a moral, as well as an interesting story. You get the sense of how both Qui Gon, and Obi Wan help each other to grow not only as individuals, but as Jedi knights too. The author does a good job of illustrating the fact that even though Obi Wan and Qui Gon are both loyal members of the Jedi, they both have very different, but accommodating, personality ...more

Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn has taken thirteen-year-old Obi-Wan Kenobi as a Padawan learner, and they're off on their first mission to the planet Gala, to make sure the planet's governmental elections go smoothly. Then, just as quickly as they take off, their ship is hijacked (uh-oh!) to the planet Phindar. The evil members of the group renew people as punishments. That means they wipe their memory, and send them off to another planet far, far way. Pretty cruel, huh? The two have been sent off on their first mission by Master Yoda, who has given them a boring assignment: overseeing the elections on Gala, where Prince Beju has been forced to submit his promised throne to a popular vote. The Uncertain Path (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 6)
Customer Reviews — [1] Rating: 5 Date: 2006-12-21 Summary: My First SW book! Jude Watson is truly talented. ... I read this book a few years ago because I had just seen Episode III in theatres and I was interested in anything Star Wars. At the time I did not realize thet this book was the sixth book in the series and as soon as I finished this book, I went back and started with number 1. Anyway, I LOVED this book. It made Obi-Wan my favorite character and even the sub-charaters were great. The relationship between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan is truly special and this book will give you chills.
